Durango hired three artists to paint 7 curbs in an effort to slow down motorists and keep pedestrians and the restaurant "bump-outs" safer. My intersection is at 7th and Main. My theme is street animals. Recently Durango was in the news because a "pet" kangaroo escaped his yard again and he always comes to Main where the police have to arrest him and take him home. There is video that went national of them doing a very gentle job of this. In spite of 94 degree weather I can't tell you how rewarding it was to throw paint and create BIG.
